Issa Matsumoto (松本 一砂 Matsumoto Issa) is a professional shogi player of rank 5-dan. He's very energetic and enthusiastic, and generally gets along with his fellow shogi players, especially Smith. He's affectionate towards Kiriyama, though Kiriyama is sometimes thrown off by his energy.
