Subaru Hachiya is a professional shogi player of rank 5-dan. He is nicknamed "The Irritable Prince of the East." He plays a fast game and doesn't take a lot of time to think about his moves. During matches, he makes a lot of distracting noises like clicking his tongue and tapping his fingers. Although he plays matches quickly, he takes a long time with the post-match analysis.
